Awful Quiet 'Round Here

The thing is, there is like eight feet of snow outside, it gets dark at noon, I have been up to my neck in grading, ancient history, and acting as adviser for ten gazillion clubs, and Laura has a new wee one who saps all of her time and strength.

Ahem.  Sorry, I'm teaching hyperbole right now to my freshman, and I got a little carried away.  I'm sick of winter and dark and cold though, and can't wait for the 90 degree heat it seems like I was just whining about yesterday.

Hyperbole aside, there hasn't been a lot of picture taking or projects to blog about.  I'm trying to figure out how to make edible whole wheat bread, instead of bricks like the Egyptians made, and I've started thinking about how to build a cold frame this spring so that I can start my garden in March instead of June.  Other than that, it's just normal day to day stuff, which doesn't seem to warrant any special attention...unless you are interested in the intricacies of my grading scale, or care to hear about my new Mouli.

OH! You DO care to hear about my Mouli!!

Look what my saintly mama-in-law got me for Christmas! It CHOPS WALNUTS! I'm sure it does other things too, as a matter of fact, I know that it shreds mozzarella like a pro, which is almost as cool as chopping walnuts because I hate shredding mozzarella almost as much as I hate chopping walnuts.  It doesn't do dishes or windows, but I'm not complaining.  Seriously, this is cool on a sliced bread level.

And there you have it.  My life.

  1. Is that what it's called! I used to have one and couldn't remember what it was called, just that it was the BEST kitchen gadget, and it shredded cheese better than anything ever.
